I know it's still July, but around these parts that means that school is about to start. Next week Jonah will be making the big leap to the big school as he starts kindergarten (I'm already pulling out the tissues). Last week, his school held Kinder-Camp, where he went every morning for 3 hours to get used to the school and his teacher. (When I first told him about Kinder-Camp, he looked at me quizzically and asked if all the kids were going to sleep in sleeping bags on the classroom floor)...Apparently it was a lot of fun, and although
I had to swallow a big lump in my throat as I said goodbye, Jonah (besides being a little shy the first day or two) had no hesitation upon entering the classroom.

The coolest part of the week was that he got to ride the bus. Although we only live 1 1/2 blocks away from the school, we get front door service every day. Jonah was so excited that he stood outside for 30 minutes waiting for it! And let me tell you, school buses are a blessing for parents with little babies at home...no longer will naptime be interrupted by a run to the school! Hallelujah!

This is Jonah on his first day of camp. Dropping him off last year on the first day of preschool brought lots of tears (for both of us). This time he sat right down and started on a puzzle. Of course, I'm not making any promises for next week when he's gone all day long. As I said before, I picked up some extra Kleenex in preparation. At least Jonah won't have any problems! We're looking forward to a great year.

You can't say some of that stuff in person to me! I'm not thinking it all through and if I do - I too might get emotional and I don't know if I can handle that. (:
He looks quite comfortable and ready to start! He'll do great - you've prepared him well!!!
