The Snow Snake

Well, today it was 65 degrees at our house, but I thought I'd post some fun winter pictures. After the ice storm we bought a sled and had some fun in our backyard. It felt funny going to the hardware store to buy the sled--a pink one, called "The Snow Snake"--when others were coming in looking for generators and kerosene heaters. This was the first time sledding for the kids and they LOVED it (especially Jonah). The undercrust of ice made for a good run, even on our very low-grade hill. The only thing was that we had to watch out for the tree branches--stuff was still falling down from the weight of the ice!
Anyway, here is documentation of our sledding adventure from January 30th, 2009.

We called this the belly run
Now that we've got the sled, we probably won't see one more flake of snow for the rest of the year (and frankly, I hope that's the case...I'm ready for spring!)
But, there's always next season!

Loved the one of Jonah and Kate at the "bottom of your slope" - you need to crop their faces and print that one out!!!
