1. We've got a sitter!
Lincoln was five months old on Jan 1st. The next day I mentioned to Micah that our other two kids started sitting up around this time. So, I tried it out on Lincoln--and he could do it! At first he was a bit wobbly (of course) but he is rapidly becoming a pro.
2. We've got a ballerina!
Kate has been begging to go to "dance class" for six months. So as an early birthday present she started this week. Her teacher said that she participated in everything but just didn't speak (which is what I thought would happen). Of course when she got home she couldn't stop talking about it or even allow me to talk off her leotard. A little funny that I don't want to forget: I was telling Kate that her teacher's name would be Miss Tiffany. She didn't respond, so I told her again, thinking she hadn't heard or that she hadn't realized what I was talking about. She then says to me (in quite a sassy voice, I might add), "Mom, how many times are you going to tell me?" Please get over the attitude before your teenage years, okay?
3. We've got a painter!
Well, we have several painters, actually. We've been redoing our kitchen (which is a big part of my lack of posts recently--that and holiday laziness). Jonah had tons of fun helping out. I'll post pictures soon, when we're totally finished.4. We've got photographers!
Kate and Jonah got cameras for Christmas. It was so funny hearing Jonah direct his subjects, making them get closer together, smile, and change positions in order to creat the perfect shot. It's almost as if he's heard that somewhere before...
5. We've got a cereal-eater!
All week long, Kate has been begging to feed Lincoln cereal. "He really wants it!" she kept telling me. So, last night we gave him his first few bites. Obviously, he wasn't too thrilled, but he did get a few swallows into his tummy (I think). The best part was listening to Kate and Jonah laugh hysterically as the cereal kept coming back out of Lincoln's mouth.
And, as seen here, Lincoln had more fun pulling Kate's hair (a new-found skill) than eating that yucky old cereal.

I think my favorite is that last photo. Kate and Jonah look like they are busting out with happiness. How fun to get your kitchen redone. I want to see- got pictures? I wish I could "hang out with the Shirts", looks like fun! Miss you guys!

Jonah and Kate REALLY must have loved when Lincoln would spit out his cereal because they both were talking about how funny it was when they were over here last week! Congratulations on the sitting- it really opens up a whole new perspective on the world for them, doesn't it?
I agree with your friend Heather. That last picture of your kids is so cute. It seems like it probably catches their personalities.
I still can't get over you are a mom of THREE. You do such an amazing job. I can tell by reading your posts.
