This Baby's a Little Eager

I know that I've been slacking on the posts recently (I hope this doesn't become a habit). But the big news in our house has to do with little baby boy who should arrive within the month. Well, actually, it will probably be a lot sooner than that. This past weekend I had a LOT of Braxton Hicks contractions--for those who don't know, those are "painless" contractions that are just supposed to be practice. Anyway, they just kept going and going one night...I was getting kind of worried! But they finally stopped. I've been taking it easy since then, and attributed it to not eating the best meal for dinner on Friday night. Well, yesterday, I went to the doctor. I'm not quite 36 weeks along and I'm already 3 to 4 centimeters dialated and 80% effaced! (Yes, that's a lot). Now, both my other kids have been over two weeks early, but I'm not prepared to have one 4 weeks early. So, alas, I'm on "semi-bed rest." That is, I'm taking it pretty easy for the next couple of weeks to hopefully keep the little guy inside as long as I can.
I know, you usually hear about people wanting the baby to come sooner, but I'm just not ready yet! Jonah has to start preschool and I have to teach Young Women on Sunday and I have to read Breaking Dawn (okay, so that last one isn't so urgent). But anyway, please keep us in your prayers that this baby won't come out until he is ready. Micah gave me a blessing and that has helped calm me down and strengthened my faith that the Lord will watch over us. So who knows how soon you'll be seeing baby pictures--let's hope that it's not TOO soon!

my sister had severe preclampysa and was in the hospital A LOT starting in her 7th month. She never had contractions until Lindsy, my niece, actually came. But she threw up everyday, had a very high fever A lot. It was really scary! And i felt so helpless because i couldn't do anything about it. the only thing i was able to do was to keep my sister company while she was on bedrest for a while. i hope things go okay for you. can't wait to see pictures!! :)

Wow, he is eger to get here. I hope he can hold out for a little longer. I know this has to be a little nerve racking for you. At least it would be safe for him to be born at this point. I'm sure he will arrive when he is supposed too! We'll keep you in our prayers and keep us posted!

Your little baby is just too excited to get here. He probably hears Jonah and Kate having so much fun and he feels left out. Haha! I hope you get a chance to read Breaking Dawn before. I am sooooo EXCITED!!!!! Let me know if you need me to watch the kids or pick something up at the grocery store or whatever for you.

I can't believe your baby boy is due so soon, and we'll pray he decides to stay in Heaven just a little longer. Our little Adelle was born about three weeks early and that was just early enough. Good luck!

Congratulations on the new baby. I guess he wasn't going to wait no matter what you did. From what I hear, weight wise it was a good thing him came "early".

Well, I was just about to post that I hope you get to read the book before baby gets here (Sean's at Borders getting it for me right now, LOL). But from the looks of Kari's post it seems like he is already here. Congratulations!! I can't wait to see pictures of your latest addition!!

If babies only did what they were suppose to than life would be so much easier. Take advantage of the "down time." Read your book, let your other kids veg-out in front of the t.v., etc. When that little guy comes you won't get much down time.

Your fourth of July weekend looked fun. Molly would DIE to meet Dora. Cute pictures.

I love to read your blog because you write like you talk, and it brings back so many great memories.

Good luck with the next few weeks.
